What Does Intuitive Practice Look Like?

Rachel’s Story

Rachel had been bullied by her 4 older brothers all through her childhood. Her parents had been too busy to notice. All her life, she had struggled with confidence and low self-esteem. She couldn’t trust men. She would set goals and dream dreams, only to belittle her efforts and give up soon after starting. Her fear of trying new things held her back from the joy and adventure she longed for her in her life.

She had tried it all – psychotherapy, coaching, self-help apps online and books at the bookstore. She’d even tried a few retreats, come back inspired, and a few months later was back in her hole. They all helped shimmy some dirt off the top. But deep down, something felt blocked. Hollow. Like a part of her was missing.

A close friend told her about an intuitive healer she had worked with. After an introductory chat, they had set up an intuitive work package. They would work on life and emotional areas needing clarity and insight, connect with intuitive guidance, and then spend a few subsequent sessions integrating that information into her life. They set up daily practices and rituals for centering and wellbeing. Bravely she faced and worked through the truths and pain that surfaced, said her friend. She stepped into new directions, all the while feeling empathically held and supported by the healer, throughout their sessions. She had now become intrigued by healing practices, and incorporated them into her daily living.

Through these gradual changes — some subtle, others dramatic like rapidly clearing inner blocks — she had arrived at feeling more whole. She noticed a clearer, calmer mind. A deeper presence in the moment.

Rachel listened carefully, gazing at her friend’s glowing face. She made her decision. Intuitive work was worth a try.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us… And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

What’s Your Personal Story? How Does It Influence Your Work?
  • As a woman, mother, wife and healthcare professional, I understand the struggles of finding balance and meaning.
  • As a leader in various roles, I can relate to the push-pull of collaboration versus stride ahead, emotional versus. logical decisions, managing up versus down, power sharing and more.
  • As a transcultural individual, immigrant and global citizen, I know how it feels to move across cultures and hold multiple viewpoints and identities within us.
  • As a physician, healer and spiritual seeker on my own path, my years of cumulative experience inform how I balance the integrative modalities, spiritual and energetic inner work with the science, medicine and research.

Disclaimer: Our intuitive practice (IP) work is mutually exclusive from our psychotherapy service. Individuals who choose to do IP work with us must clearly understand and acknowledge that they are not engaged in mental health care with us (unless the IP is being blended with a psychotherapy client on rare and needed occasion, with clear conversation about this ahead of time). We’ll provide you with further details during consultation and intake. Also, please note that neither one of us is an ordained minister of any church. We offer IP work through multiple trainings, educational and experiential work, and our own years of personal development work experience.
